CIAT is a dynamic, forward-thinking, inclusive global membership qualifying body for AT.  The only international body permitted to award the regulated and protected qualification, Chartered Architectural Technologist and protected designations MCIAT or FCIAT. This status recognises the distinct nature of AT discipline. Architectural Technology (AT), the technology of Architecture. A creative and innovative design discipline; integrates architecture, science, technology and engineering. AT forms the link between concept, innovation and realisation of a building or structure.

James is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. He has been at CIAT for over 20 years. He leads and oversees all management aspects of the Membership Department aligned to the Institute’s aims and objectives within the Strategic and Corporate Plans including engagement, promotion, collaboration, recruitment, joining, qualifying, benefits, retention, specialist registers (including Principal Designer, CIAT Accredited Conservationist and Chartered Environmentalist) and currency of standards.

Sam's academic career and his work and impact on the discipline of AT and CIAT continues to be immeasurable and cannot be cited in entirety here. Episode 2 Co-Host | Dan Rossiter FCIAT | Chartered Architectural Technologist | Built Environment Sector Lead at BSI

Dan Rossiter FCIAT is an active supporter of the built environment sector, both nationally and internationally. Nationally, Dan provides digital transformation thought leadership at the British Standards Institution (BSI) where he also provides subject matter expertise to several national committees relating to information management, technical documentation, and terminology.  Outside of BSI Dan is Vice-President Technical for CIAT, contributes to several sector working groups, and is an ambassador for nima. Internationally, Dan convenes CEN and ISO terminology as well as strategy working groups relating to the digital transformation of the built environment.

Episode 2 Co-Host | Gareth Sewell FCIAT | Chartered Architectural Technologist | Head of BIM at Purcell Architects

Gareth is a Fellow Chartered Member of CIAT.  He has over 36 years’ experience in computer aided design (CAD); Information Technology and Building Information Modelling (BIM). In his current role at Purcell, Gareth looks at emerging technologies and how these can be implemented on historical and heritage projects to bring results driven information to clients to enable better solutions for their projects. Focussing on key areas around sustainability, and the ability to enhance information around carbon and energy usage.  Gareth sees that use of BIM and associated technology as a key factor in ensuring the built environment responds to the climate emergency now facing all of us.

He is regularly invited to speak at industry events and is a recognised leader in the use of BIM in the construction industry.
